Friday 12th March at 8 pm The Riverside Room
This is your chance to come and tell us what sail training you would like the RAFYC to organise.
From this seminar we hope to scope out some training sessions
The aim is to give boat owners & crews the benefit of the combined experience of club members.
Training can be anything from informal lectures at club level to short courses with RYA certificates.

The second work party at the engine shed was a success we managed to rebuild some of the racking and make it two tier to better accommodate the engines and provide more space for access. The oars have separate racks as well. Many thanks to those who came to the parties.

The club has many boat owners who are occasionally looking for additional crew and also many non-boat owners who are looking for crewing experience.
In order to help get more people on the water, the Membership and Sailing committees are compiling a list of potential crew and boats, so that interested members can contact each other and match up their sailing preferences and availability.

A propeller belonging to a Second World War aeroplane was raised from the seabed in Calshot yesterday morning after the volunteer crew of the RNLI charity's Calshot lifeboat snagged the all-weather lifeboat on a mystery object beneath the waves. The triple-bladed propeller is believed to have been wrenched from the wing of a Sunderland flying boat which sank just off Calshot spit 50 years ago, then a hive of military activity due to RAF Calshot's base there.
