The Trade Winds USA 2001 Rally took place over 12 months from October 2001. Thirteen yachts took part in the rally which offered participants three different route options:

  1. The "long" route: West to the Caribbean and Cuba, North along the Eastern USA coast to Newport, East across the Atlantic to Europe.

  2. The "short" route: West to the Caribbean and Cuba, East across the Atlantic to Europe.

  3. The "intermediate" route: West to the Caribbean and Cuba, North along the Eastern USA coast to Newport, and terminate in the USA.

Details of the Rally plan and reports of progress may be found on the original TW USA Web (see panel on LHS).
