Club Open Day Sunday 8th June
We had great weather again and an even
bigger turn out than last year. We had fly pasts of
jets, helicopters and training planes and without a
doubt the RAFYC has been firmly put on the map.
All the work put in by volunteers
seems to have been amply recognised by the comments from
the visitors who all noted the friendly atmosphere, the
welcome and the great feel of our club. Apparently we
have received a considerable amount of interest from
potential new members.

Hamble Scramble Saturday 21st June
A
splendid day was enjoyed by all scramblers, if a little
damp! The traditional visit to the Horse & Jockey,
followed by a picnic in the delightful rural farm fields
of the upper Hamble prepared everyone for the rigour of
the return trip. This features the running dogfight of
super soakers and anything else that can be used to
throw water around. The scramble returned to the club
around 6pm via the Jolly Sailor. |

Events
11 -17 July - Brest Rally
Visiting the renowned Brest Festival of Sailors and
the Sea, this rally needs to be pre-booked. Club members
have obtained a limited number of free moorings at the
centre of the festival. See the
Rallies page for more information.
12/13 July - Gins Farm Rally
On arrival at Gins the berthing
master will find you a mooring buoy in the river and
although the RSYC runs a Club launch its operating times
are limited and it is better if you have your own dinghy
to take you back to your mooring after dinner. This is a
glorious venue with an excellent meal provided at Gin’s
restaurant on Saturday evening.
19/20 July - Osborne House Rally
(Full)
This is another rally not to be
missed. Berths have been reserved at East Cowes Marina
and coaches take us to Osborne House on Saturday for a
glorious evening listening to the Bournemouth
Philharmonic Orchestra playing in the grounds. Picnics
are the order of the evening before catching the coaches
back to the marina.
